A Patio Gazebo Is A Way to Get Out Of the Sun
A patio is a great place to have in every home. It provides you a transition place between your indoors and your outdoors. And once you set foot on it, you have the feeling that you’re outside yet you know you’re just within your home. With a patio, you get to have a place where you can relax and savor the view of your garden while enjoying the crisp air.
Bet there comes a point where the sun can be a little too hot especially when it’s mercilessly blazing its harmful rays. When this happen, there’s no way for you to enjoy the outdoors and find it better to settle within the walls of your home instead, otherwise, you might suffer from too much heat of the sun. It is during these times that you find it perfect to add one structure to provide you shade where you can seek shelter in and there could never be more perfect than a patio gazebo.
A gazebo is one perfect add-on to incorporate in your backyard. In the past, you can only find structures like these in public parks or town square and only the rich can afford to have one in their backyard. It is a perfect place to have coffee or tea and during summer, there could never be a perfect place to share a pitcher of iced cold lemonade with friends than the gazebo. Nowadays, more and more homeowners are adding a gazebo in their backyards so acquiring one is just a piece of cake and no longer a thing of the rich.
There are a couple of things, though, that you have to consider if you plan to add one in your backyard. First off is the type of material. Wood is the most popular because of its natural look that easily matches any garden. Teak is often used but since it is also often not available, cedar can substitute. Though it is the most common, it is also a bit pricey and requires more maintenance so it could withstand the weather.
On the other hand, metal gazebos are also available. Usually made from wrought iron or stainless steel, metal gazebos require less maintenance than wood though both are equally durable. All you have to watch out for is rust for it to be well-maintained. Since both wood and metal are a bit bulky and you prefer something that’s lighter in weight, then vinyl gazebos will work best on you. Though it is said to be less-durable, vinyl gazebos can prove otherwise because of the recent advancements in manufacturing.
Likewise, one advantage of which is its weight that will enable you to move around easily. But this advantage can turn out to be its disadvantage too. Because it’s light, it can be easily carried off by strong wind so you have to make sure it is properly anchored to avoid this.
In determining the size of your patio gazebo, all you have to consider is the layout of your yard and the use you want to get out of it. The most popular size is 10×10 but you definitely can have one bigger if you intend to add some outdoor furniture, pool table or even a bar counter and a couple of bar stools to maximize your use of it. The design is also dependent upon your liking but what’s available in the market are traditional Victorian to exotic Asian. So long as you blend it well with your home, you’ll have a gazebo that will enable you to enjoy the outdoors more.
